Black Art 26 Year Old (1990 6.1) image
Bruichladdich Black Art 26 Year Old (1990 6.1)
This highly anticipated 6th release of the mystic single malt is just as enigmatic as the last. This Bruichladdich Black Art 6.1 26-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a cryptic composition of casks. The unpeated single malt has undergone a parallel journey with Bruichladdich's head distiller, Adam. Having worked closely with these casks in his early days in the warehouses, under the guidance of then Master Distiller Jim McEwan, Adam has had the honor of learning and developing alongside this spirit. The substantial task of hand-selecting and blending the very best spirit of Bruichladdich now falls to him alone. There are some specifics that have been revealed to the public and we can share with you. For example, the 6th release of Black Art was distilled in 1990, aged for 26 years, was never chill filtered in the process, is free of artificial color additives and bottled at cask strength, 46.9% ABV. On the other hand, there are some details, Adam is keeping a secret. Cask type? Only Adam knows. In other words... It is for you to find out!

Tasting Notes
Nose: Tangerines on the nose, then Turkish Delight, sliced cucumber, new leather, toffee, soft spices, and a hint of char.
Palate: Mouth-coating, with sweet orchard fruits dipped in cream. Sharper fruit notes in time, with almonds and ginger.
Finish: Icing sugar, milk chocolate, spicy oak, a fleeting savory note, and lingering fruitiness in the finish.
Glenkinchie Distillers Edition
Glenkinchie - The Distillers Edition is double-matured in Amontillado cask wood, the nutty character of which was elegantly chosen to round out and deepen the sweet and dry character of Glenkinchie; it has a firm, dry and really malty palate, and a spicy oak-driven finish.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Brisk, sharp, and brittle. Complex and excellent; the astonishing balance between sweet and dry. Firmer, drier notes from soft vanillins and crisp grape; sweeter, nuttier ones from malted barley, and cask wood.
Palate: Dry, after early biscuity-sweetness. The enormous malt character contrasts with the thin fruitiness of the grape.
Finish: Very long, dry, oaky. Very faint peppery notes and spice.
