Tawny Cask image
Angel's Envy Tawny Cask
For the second release from our celebrated Cellar Collection, we've selected our finest 10-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon from our oldest stocks and finished it in tawny port barrels for 10 months to create a uniquely complex, high-proof whiskey. Tawny port was once considered to be the queen of port wines, and the mellow flavors from these tawny oak barrels perfectly complement the complexity of our 10-year bourbon. In honor of these exquisitely refined flavors, we've chosen the symbol of the queen to commemorate our second rare and remarkable Cellar Collection release. Our Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in Tawny Port Wine Barrels is available exclusively for 500 Main members from January 31st until February 7th. Beginning February 8th, it will be available at our distillery and a handful of select retailers.

Michter's Bomberger's Declaration
The Bomberger's Distillery legacy can be traced back to 1753, when two Swiss Mennonite farmers by the name of John and Michael Shenk began distilling rye whiskey on their farm near Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The distillery was passed down through relatives of the Shenk family until 1860 when the distillery was purchased (and subsequently renamed) by Pennsylvania Dutchman Adam Bomberger, who owned and operated the distillery until Prohibition forced its closing in 1919. At that time, Bomberger's Distillery was the oldest operating distillery in the United States, and in many ways represented the transformation of whiskey distilling from an agricultural enterprise to a large-scale industrial one.
