15 Year Old image
The Glenlivet 15 Year Old
The 15 Year Old gets its distinctive rich and exotic character from a process of selective maturation in which a proportion of the spirit is matured in French oak casks. In fact, we at The Glenlivet were one of the first to use French oak for making whisky, a technique that has since been imitated the world over. The Limousin oak we use is cut in France's Dordogne region, where it's often used to mature cognacs. Its low density allows whisky to sink deep into the wood, and we carefully control how long the whisky matures in the casks so as not to overpower the desired result: a unique, pleasing spiciness.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Intense golden color and aromas of rich butter, caramel and whipped cream.
Palate: On the palate, the whisky nutty, with cinnamon, cloves, and is slightly fruity, with notes of baked apples and cinnamon spice.
Finish: Long, dry, and accented by almonds, nutmeg and pie crust, with a hint of pepper
Glenmorangie Cognac Cask 13 Year Old
This oaky and fruity small-batch release results from one of Dr. Bill's rare experiments with Cognac casks, elegantly winding notes of spice and leather with Glenmorangie's wondrous fruit flavours. Dr. Bill had long imagined finishing Glenmorangie in Cognac casks for a delicious marriage of flavours. While his early experiments were unsuccessful, this 13 year old Glenmorangie Cognac Cask Finish finally brings his dream alive.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Apple tart and toffee are delectably deepened by a subtle note of forest floor. Then Glenmorangie's fruity bursts of baked apples, oranges and pears fill the air. A splash of water releases scents of butter candy, more sweet pastry and a touch of beeswax, delicately lightened by mint.
Palate: Sweet and almost sparkling, like toffee apples and baked pears scattered with almonds and slices of mandarin orange. That fruitiness is deliciously threaded with clove, star anise and soft hints of leather.
Finish: Long, elegant and gently mentholic.
