Tasting Notes
Nose: Vanilla and sweet hay, accented by sandalwood and mace, with cherry blossoms, caramel, new saddle leather, chamomile-soaked butterscotch drops and warm cinnamon-kissed cedar.
Palate: Smooth and balanced with a hint of pecan pie sweetness, warm, rich, and spicy sensation, with flavors of vanilla, caramel, dried fruit, and a touch of spice.
Finish: Complex and balanced, with a long-lasting signature chestnut finish. Clean, fruity, with a bit of waxiness and minerality, with lingering warmth and refined smoothness.
Frey Ranch Straight Bourbon
A true farm-to-table bourbon, Frey Ranch Four-Grain Straight Bourbon Whiskey is 100% sustainably grown, malted, distilled, matured, and bottled on the Frey Ranch. Aged for 5 years, this 90-proof bourbon is smooth yet complex with oak and citrus aromas followed by vanilla, caramel, banana chips, and dried hay on the palate. Tasting Notes
Nose: Sweet citrus over dense oak and candy corn lay the groundwork. Medium intensity affords approachability with a noticeable lack of heat. A transition to light spearmint and baking spice provides moderate depth, but also a degree of excitement. It's an enjoyable aroma that works well as it comes together.
Palate: Toffee and caramel start out of the gate, which are quickly followed by light vanilla, green apple, citrus, and tempered apricot. The palate hits with approachable intensity allowing the flavors to breathe.
Finish: A soft ramp up in dry oak and rye spice is a welcomed contrast to the whiskey's sweet and savory base. This shorter finish is all too fleeting at times, leaving only a faint trace of spice on your tongue. Thankfully, trace amounts of the palate's citrus and apricot remain during the finish.
