Pennsylvania Classic Rye image
Dad's Hat Pennsylvania Classic Rye
Our classic rye recipe features only rye grain and malt to deliver a pure expression of Pennsylvania Rye Whiskey. Barrel aging for least six months in charred, new oak quarter casks allows the genuine rye flavor to evolve quickly. As a result, the small batch whiskey is ensured of reaching the right balance of complexity and smoothness. The final product is a very smooth spirit that delivers the up-front spice that rye is known for while finishing with a full, round mouthfeel.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Floral, spicy, crushed grain, grass, sweet spice, bitter herbal notes.
Palate: Well-balanced, upfront and back-end spice, cinnamon, dried fruit, black cherry, hints of tobacco, vanilla, oak, and a light barrel character.
Finish: Smooth, lingering, subtle warmth, hints of cinnamon, dark chocolate, and a peppery tingle.
Jim Beam Old Overholt
Here you have the oldest of all Beam family whiskeys. Established in 1810 by the upright, forward-thinking Abraham Overholt, his namesake whiskey is recognized today as the oldest enduring American Rye in the United States. Made and sold without interruption, this whiskey has seen a thing or two over the centuries. Bottled with a commitment to quality exemplified by an assertive Rye taste, Overholt is a powerful ally to bartenders who prefer it for their cocktails. At one time, it was the most popular spirit in the country. One the Beam family took note of and vowed to continue distilling the way Abraham wanted: proudly true to its industrious spirit.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Sweet scents of graham cracker, caramel, and vanilla frosting are at the forefront overtop a citrusy orange base. The nose is quite expressive for an 80 proof whiskey. Minor notes of oak and rye spice are also present, but barely make an impact over the sweet aromas.
Palate: There are faint traces of leather, cinnamon, and orange, but they're weak and muddled.
Finish: The same flavors that are present in the palate ramp up a notch on the finish, but fade rather quickly.
