In keeping with the history of the brand and to assure that only the finest quality Bourbon is labeled Belle Meade Bourbon, we painstakingly select barrels sourced from the nation's finest distillers. Each batch of our well-aged proprietary blend creates the signature flavor profile that makes Belle Meade Bourbon the award-winning Bourbon of choice for the discerning whiskey drinker. The high-rye blend of Belle Meade was designed to make it a versatile Bourbon. It shines whether served neat, with a splash, or on the rocks but it's also outstanding in a well-made cocktail. The high rye content and 90.4 bottling proof helps Belle Meade Bourbon to stand up to mixers that often mask other Bourbons, thus making it the perfect Bourbon for your favorite classic or craft cocktail creation. Whoever said everything old is new again was dead on. So don't drink like your Dad. Drink like your Great Great GREAT Granddad. Drink Belle Meade Bourbon.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Maple syrup and caramel with floral fragrances and a citrus zest.
Palate: Caramel and vanilla with bold rye spice and hints of apricot.
Finish: Long, smooth finish with mellow cherry and plum notes accented by cinnamon, all without the burn found in other 90 proof bourbons.
Jim Beam Old Grand-Dad 114 Proof
Basil Hayden Sr. - known as Old Grand-Dad to the generations that followed - made bourbon the way he wanted. He went against the traditional “grain” of the time and chose to distill his bourbon with a higher percentage of rye. This way of crafting bourbon was likely something he handed down to his son. And in turn, his grandson. That was Colonel R.B. Hayden who would justly name his bourbon after his Old Grand-Dad. The recipe today remains inspired by Basil's original with complex flavors and an unmistakable spiciness. First bottled in 1882, very little has changed about it. And that's the only way we'd have it.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Immediately you're hit with cinnamon, brown sugar and rye heat. Old Grand-Dad line is known for their above-average amount of rye in their mashbill compared to other bourbons. This is very evident on its nose. Fainter hints of orange peel and spice also tag along for the ride.
Palate: Fruity but very firm. The rye character is present along with a decent amount of alcohol that at times can get in the way of the flavor. This bourbon commands all of your attention and then some.
Finish: A full bodied finish that lets you know it's there. It's certainly one of the stronger tasting bourbons out there. The long finish reveals almost a candied aftertaste with red hot cinnamon being very present. The bourbon does seem to enjoy a few extra minutes out of the bottle as it becomes a bit easier to go down.
