Many times this is not a big deal (i.e. Blanton's), but sometimes it matters (i.e. Larceny Barrel Proof versions). Nose: Aged oak, spiced vanilla, with notes of mint and chocolate.
Palate: Richly textured, nutty, and semisweet. Initial bursts of honey give way to toasted wood and pleasant char.
Finish: Lively and engaging, then lingers with vanilla and pepper.

Rabbit Hole Dareringer
This unique bourbon is a part of Rabbit Hole's set of limited edition small batch, experimental finishes. To make this special expression, Straight Bourbon Whiskey with a wheat mash bill, is matured in #3, wood-fired, alligator char. They transfer it to 500 liter casks that have been used to perfect sweet, dark Pedro Ximénez sherry. The resulting whiskey is refined, balanced with a long cascading finish.
