Glengyle (Kilkerran Whiskies) Kilkerran Heavily Peated
Kilkerran is the name that was chosen for the single malt produced at Mitchell's Glengyle Distillery, there are two reasons for this. Firstly, because the name Glengyle is already used for a blended Highland malt and Mitchell's Glengyle Ltd were not able to purchase the rights to use that name. They also wished to avoid any possible confusion between the newest single malt to come from the Campbeltown region and a pre-existing blended Highland malt. Secondly, and more importantly, Mitchell's Glengyle Ltd are very proud to be continuing and adding to the great Campbeltown Distilling tradition and the choice of name reflects that. Kilkerran is derived from the Gaelic 'Ceann Loch Cille Chiarain' which is the name of the original settlement where Saint Kerran had his religious cell and where Campbeltown now stands. Kilkerran is thought to be a suitable name for a new Campbeltown malt since it was unusual for the old Campbeltown distilleries to be called after a Glen, a custom more usually associated with the Speyside region.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Opens up to reveal citrus notes, vanilla cheesecake, rhubarb and custard sweets with delicate peat smoke.
Palate: Freshly baked Bramley apple pie and sweet salted caramel. The peat is prolific yet well integrated. A fresh coastal influence evokes memories of a blustery, busy, sea sprayed harbour.
Finish: Long and creamy. Notes of toasted oak and pencil shavings give way to a lasting sweet, fruity peat smoke.
Talisker Distillers Edition
The Talisker Distillers Edition, an annual release that is double matured for up to 6 months in ex-amoroso sherry casks, achieves bitter-sweet harmony as its crisp peat softens, not to pepper, but to rich, sweet, juicy fruit. An older, richer and sweeter expression that makes a fantastic gift for whisky connoisseurs and lovers of the Talisker family of smoky island single malt whiskies. Talisker Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillers Edition 2020 distilled in 2007, bottled in 2017.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Wafts of sweet, roasted malt, wood and pepper.
Palate: On the palate crisp peat softens to enormous richness, leaving a heathland dryness, with luscious, slightly oily sweetness; ripe, juicy fruit.
Finish: To finish with flavours of deep cocoa, vanilla and lingering, earthy peat. Very engaging; great sweet-dry balance, led by sweetness.
