Straight Rye Whiskey image
E.H. Taylor Straight Rye Whiskey
Straight Rye Whiskey has experienced a strong resurgence in the American whiskey landscape, yet Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. was making this style more than 100 years ago. This small batch, Bottled-in-Bond 100 proof straight rye whiskey pays tribute to the former Distillery owner with a unique rye whiskey reminiscent of days long past.

Tasting Notes
Nose: The aroma is characterized by rye spice, dried fruit, and a hint of fresh dill. Some also detect notes of mint and pear.
Palate: The initial taste is dominated by rye spice, but it quickly mellows to reveal flavors of vanilla, pear, nutmeg, and a touch of pine. There's also an oily viscosity that coats the mouth, carrying notes of cinnamon and baking spice.
Finish: The finish is described as pleasingly dry with lingering oak notes.

Old Forester Single Barrel Rye
Since the release of Old Forester Rye in 2019, fans of the brand have been clamoring to try it at barrel strength, and weʼre excited to deliver. For the first time in the brandʼs 150 year history, Old Forester is elated to present this new expression, unfiltered, as a single barrel at barrel strength. As such, each barrel will have it's own unique tasting notes and various proofs- but all distinctly Old Forester Rye. This expression, although extremely limited, will be available nationwide though not through Old Foresterʼs private By the Barrel program.

Note: A very small quantity of whiskies came from this single barrel, so taste variability is higher than with larger production whiskies. Many times this is not a big deal (i.e. Blanton's), but sometimes it matters (i.e. Larceny Barrel Proof versions). If the specific barrel is not listed, ask your server or a store employee for more info.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Dessert forward, creamy vanilla and lemon custard, alongside rich caramel and dark brown sugar.
Palate: Full-bodied with a base of ripe orchard fruit, subtle cinnamon stick, dried dill, and hazelnut.
Finish: Lengthy and spice driven, with peripheral black pepper and unpinnings of green anisette and crisp mint.
