Single Barrel Millet Whiskey image
Koval Single Barrel Millet Whiskey
Koval Single Barrel Millet Whiskey is a unique, organic, and kosher whiskey made from 100% millet, a gluten-free grain. It is known for its fruity aromas, particularly notes of exotic fruits, and a delicate, elegant profile. The whiskey is aged in new charred American oak barrels and bottled without chill filtration, showcasing the natural flavors of the millet. Tasting notes suggest a biscuity, grain-led flavor profile with hints of licorice spice, caramel sweetness, and warm cereal flavors. It also features an aftertaste of apple and oak.

Note: A very small quantity of whiskies came from this single barrel, so taste variability is higher than with larger production whiskies. Many times this is not a big deal (i.e. Blanton's), but sometimes it matters (i.e. Larceny Barrel Proof versions). If the specific barrel is not listed, ask your server or a store employee for more info.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Vanilla, smoke, star anise, licorice, and hints of green apple and shortbread, according to one review.
Palate: Vanilla, honey, floral notes, licorice/anise, clove, caramel, allspice, and the distinctive flavor of millet grain. Some reviewers have noted a "funky" sweetness balanced by strong licorice notes.
Finish: Slight burn, medium smoky dryness, and a lingering warmth. Some describe it as a dry, oaky, and faintly smoky finish.
Michter's Kentucky Straight Bourbon US*1
In contrast to Michter's Rye, Michter's US*1 Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey is made from a mash composed primarily of ripe, American corn. Once the grains have been harvested, they are milled and mashed before being fermented and then distilled through a copper-pot still. Following distillation, the bourbon is matured in hand-selected white oak barrels, which contributes a rich, amber color to the whiskey.
