Double Rye! image
High West Double Rye!
Double Rye! is a blend of two different rye whiskeys. It is also crafted to be twice as spicy (think cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves) as your average rye whiskey. We recommend trying a Double Rye! Manhattan or Old Fashioned - it's also absolutely superb for sipping alone or sharing with other cowboys and good-looking strangers.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Mint, clove, cinnamon, licorice root, pine nuts, and dark chocolate, with a surprising dose of gin botanicals throughout.
Palate: Rye spices up front, then menthol, mint, eucalyptus, herbal tea with wildflower honey and allspice.
Finish: Cinnamon and mint, gradually sweetening through the finish, with a hint of anise.
Michter's Kentucky Straight Rye US*1
Michter's US*1 Single Barrel Straight Rye Whiskey is made from a mash comprised primarily of fresh, plump rye grains. Once the grains are harvested, they are sheared so that during fermentation, the grains are saturated with more flavor. After the grains have been fermented, they are distilled through a copper-pot still before being matured in charred, American oak barrels. The barrels are allowed to rest in a heat-cycled warehouse, which forces the wood to expand and contract as the temperature rises and falls. This heat cycling causes the whiskey and wood to mingle with each other, and contributes notes of marmalade and light caramel to the rye. Once Willie Pratt — Michter's Master Distiller — determines that the rye has reached its peak flavor, each bottle is filled and sealed by hand.

Independently Owned
Note: A very small quantity of whiskies came from this single barrel, so taste variability is higher than with larger production whiskies. Many times this is not a big deal (i.e. Blanton's), but sometimes it matters (i.e. Larceny Barrel Proof versions). If the specific barrel is not listed, ask your server or a store employee for more info.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Aroma of spices, with peppery notes, dark fruits, rye bread and vanilla.
Palate: Notes of citrus, oak and butterscotch on the palate, which complement touches of herbs and toast.
Finish: Finish, which is both sweet and warming, ends with a touch of caramel.
