FEW Spirits Single Malt Whisky
FEW Single Malt Whisky is crafted exclusively from malted barley. Unlike traditional single malts, however, the whisky is crafted using both cherry wood smoked barley (this imparts a sweet, slightly smoky flavor) and unsmoked two-row barley. After distillation, the single malt is matured in custom-made oak barrels from Minnesota. "The cooper I eventually chose to make our barrels won 24 out of 25 categories at a spirits competition I visited," Paul Hletko, owner and Master Distiller, says. "I'm no math major, but that's the cooper I want to make our barrels."

Nose: Aroma of fudge, vanilla and salted caramel.
Palate: Notes of turmeric, cherry, espresso beans, honey and graham crackers dominate the palate.
Finish: Finishes with hints of apples, oak, cinnamon and caramel.

Glenkinchie 12 Year Old

It's light character is born from its distillation in some of Scotland's largest stills; matured for 12 years, the result is a light, floral whisky with a fresh, creamy taste. Nose: Very aromatic and flowery overall, like breathing in a country garden. Noticeable vanilla, cut flowers (daffodil, blossom and hints of lily) and beneath these, a clean, toasty note. Becomes increasingly sweet and creamy, with a lightly aromatic edge and fresh citrus, which all brings to mind lemon cheesecake. Water makes it still more creamy and scented.
Palate: A sweet soft start, like crême anglaise, soon becoming flowery again. A really smooth delivery, especially after adding a drop of water. The mid-palate is crisp and then the flavour settles into a tightly focused bundle of butter icing, lemon cheesecake and freesias.
Finish: Herbal and drying, a little like potpourri.
